A new dawn

Back in May, I went on a geocaching trip with good friends to Colorado, the ultimate goal was the Mingo event in Kansas. We spent a week wandering, geocaching, I did some photography. At one small park in Colorado Springs, I met a puppy and her owners Kayla and Jose. We spent a good hour talking, and when we parted, we swapped contact info. Have you ever met someone and you know instantly they're the type you could be friends with? The type you could reach out to after a few months and they'd still be there. That was the connection I had with this young couple. We followed each other on Instagram, facebook and just generally stayed connected. Fast forward a few months, and my husband and daughter got on a healthier lifestyle movement. They were changing their eating habits, our daughter was starting her career as a professional jockey, and I thought why the hell not. My arthritis limited me in running with them, and egads, trying to keep up with them walking, that wasn't gonna happen with me being shorter. I had been following Jose and Kayla with their resistance band and yoga and decided to jump on their new business. After talking with Rob, I committed. Officially it starts November 1st, but , I started a few days early. The board and bands arrived yesterday. My water bottle with fruit infuser is here, and the yoga mat is due by Sunday. Am I excited? Heck yeah, I'm most excited to share this with the autistic non-profit I'm helping to start in Delaware, I think the kids are going to love it. I love it already because I can take the board and bands anywhere and do it. The yoga is tailored to me and what I want to focus on, areas to improve and make better. We had started eating healthier a few months ago, and I'm already a pretty good cook with the air fryer and non-fatty foods. Where will the journey take me? I have no freaking idea! But with #FitMilia and the support of Jose, Kayla and my family, it's going to be a great ride.
